Heightened security measures at Camp Randall Stadium did not appear to cause problems at Saturday's football game, as most crowd members reached their seats before kickoff.
In response to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, UW-Madison officials imposed the new regulations that led to searches of many fans' purses, fanny packs and vehicles Saturday. Also, airplanes were prohibited from flying over the stadium.
According to a Wisconsin State Journal report, one vehicle was turned away from the area Saturday when a police search of a car revealed weapons that the driver said he had recently acquired at a gun show.
