Arguments sizzled off heated lips as the crowd filled the lobby and splintered into small groups, all grappling with what they had witnessed. It was the most passionate debate and most genuine learning experience I had ever seen at UW-Madison.

The Bearded Bombshell, renowned for his controversial \ad campaign"" against slavery reparations, landed here Dec. 11 and flung verbal shrapnel all over the Wisconsin Union Theater. Though he mumbled half truths, hurled insults and ignored questions, the audience listened and let the fire burn itself out.
