18-year-old male found dead off Picnic Point

UW Police found the body of an 18-year-old male along Picnic Point around 6 p.m Thursday evening, according to a press release. 

 

 

 

The deceased individual was not related with UW-Madison, and law enforcement officials do not suspect foul play at this time, the police statement said. 

 

 

 

UW-Madison freshman Sara Wimberger said a young man stopped her and her friend near the entrance to the popular walking path and asked whether either of the them had a cell phone.  

 

 

 

According to Wimberger, he said he had found a body approximately 300 yards down the path while he was biking and studying in the woods.  

 

 

 

Since neither she nor her friend had a cell phone with them, he then waved down a bus and had the driver report the incident.
