The Associated Students of Madison tenant's rights campaign will announce this year's Worst House Contest winner located at 520 W. Doty St. on Wednesday.
The house was selected based on the extent of its problems and the duration of time before they were corrected.
\In addition to all the dilapidation and wear and tear, [the winners] had to wait a while [for repairs to be made],"" said Chris Tatarowicz, a UW-Madison sophomore and tenant's rights campaign co-coordinator.
Students were asked to submit descriptions of their living conditions to the contest. The only requirement being that the landlord was contacted about the problem, but changes were not made.
The winners will receive prizes from local businesses and city building inspectors will be sent to the house to ensure it is brought up to code.
