Badger runner earns honors
Senior Elaine Canchola was named the Big Ten Cross Country Athlete of the Week for her first-place finish in the Oz Memorial Meet in Minneapolis.
Canchola, who finished the six-kilometer race with a time of 22:01, led the No. 21 Badgers to a top finish in the meet. UW Freshman Jackie Mulrooney took second, clocking in just 20 seconds after Canchola.
Crew succeeds, goes global
Senior Tessa Molter and junior Eileen Ruzicka of the lightweight women's crew team were named to the U.S. Rowing Collegiate Honor Roll for excelling in academics, athletics and extracurricular activities.
UW senior Beau Hoopman is competing on the U.S. National team in the 2002 FISA World Rowing Championships in Seville, Spain, this week.
