In a city of many Chinese restaurants, it is hard to know which offers delicious fare or the kind of cooking that leaves a boulder in your stomach. the only way to truly find the best is to taste them all. Impossible, right? Of course not, thanks to The Daily Cardinal!
Making every effort to better serve our Chinese food-consuming public, The Daily Cardinal staff tested six Chinese restaurants within the campus area on three specific dishes: sweet-and-sour chicken, vegetable fried rice and vegetable egg rolls.

A clear victor in the race for the best Chinese food is the new kid on the block, A 8 China. This fresh face on university is no novice; they know their stuff, especially in the egg roll department. The entire office rang with praise of A 8's egg roll, despite a few disappointments in the accompanying dishes, including the fortune cookies.

Beijing Restaurant earns the honors for both the worst delivery and the best hot-and-sour soup. Though the soup came in place of the sweet-and-sour chicken originally ordered, it was a good change of pace for Cardinal staffers stuffed with several versions of sweet-and-sour sauce. However, the Beijing staff has a funny way of offering free food when they make a mistake and then asking for $4.92 when the delivery arrives. Beijing did have some good points, including its interesting packaging and a tasty sweet-and-sour chicken, in the end.
