More than 200 students gathered this past weekend on the UW-Madison campus to discuss strategies to improve student voter turn-out in this November's election.
The conference, titled \Get Your Vote On,"" trained student leaders and activists in grassroots strategies that will help improve student activity at the polls for the approaching gubernatorial election.
Former Governor Tony Earl gave a keynote address about the importance of getting students actively involved in the election process.
In addition to conference events, several candidate forums were also hosted. Gubernatorial candidates Scott McCallum, Ed Thompson and Jim Young met with students to answer questions about key campaign and electoral issues.
The conference was sponsored by the United Council of UW Students.
