The women's volleyball team (5-4 Big Ten, 14-6 overall) fell to Northwestern (6-3 Big Ten, 13-8 overall) for the first time in 28 meetings Wednesday night in Evanston, Ill. The Badgers lost all three of their games, 22-30, 41-43 and 24-30.
Senior outside hitter Erin Byrd and sophomore outside hitter Jill Odenthal recorded 16 and 15 kills, respectively. Freshman middle blocker Sheila Shaw led all players with a hitting percentage of .583 while junior defensive specialist Korie Gardner had a team-high eight digs.
