Detainee in disturbance dies after medical reaction

A disturbance turned deadly Wednesday afternoon when a man detained by police had a medical reaction and was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The incident occurred when police were dispatched to the 2800 block of University Avenue in response to a report that a man had been throwing clothing off racks in a store.

According to a Madison Police Department report, the man then approached the store employee and pulled her hair. When he left the store the suspect attacked a woman outside. She was able to get in her car and lock the door.
