Mania, a sophomore on the men's swim team, broke UW records in the backstroke on consecutive days at the Texas Invitational. The aqua-Badger set the new standard for backstroking excellence with a time of 1:45.53.
Piper, a sophomore on the women's swim team, shattered the UW and Big Ten record for the 1650 free style with a NCAA qualifying time of 16:04.49. The aqua-Badgers finished in second place at the Texas Invitational.
