The UW men's tennis team ended its regular season play Sunday afternoon with a 6-1 loss against No. 60 Michigan. Although the Badgers took the doubles point, the Wolverines dominated all six singles matches. 

 

 

 

A day earlier, the Michigan State Spartans beat the Badgers 5-2 in East Lansing, Mich.

Next up, the Badgers travel to Northwestern Thursday, April 24 for the Big Ten tournament. Matches will be held TBA at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center. In the case of inclement weather, matches will be moved to Combe Tennis Center. At the end of regular season play, the UW's record stands at 5-16, 2-8 Big Ten. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

UW (3-11 Big Ten, 14-23 overall) went 1-3 over the weekend, splitting games with Northwestern in Evanston Friday and Saturday, and losing both ends of a double-header Sunday against Illinois.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Wisconsin women's tennis team (4-5 Big Ten, 9-11 overall) defeated No. 40-ranked Michigan Wolverines 5-2 on Saturday to record its second straight win and third in the last four matches. 

 

 

 

The Badgers won the doubles point with wins at the one and three spots by senior Linde Mues and sophomore Lindsay Martin, and sophomore Katie McGaffigan and junior Teresa Gonzaga, respectively. At singles, the UW women won at the two, three, four and five positions to notch the win. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Wisconsin women's openweights won all three novice races at the Big Ten Double Dual on Lake Phalen against Iowa and host Minnesota Saturday. 

 

 

 

The Badger novice eight won their race with a time of 7:00.3. Minnesota, with a 7:07.2, was second ahead of Iowa, which finished the 2,000-meter course in 7:12.7.
