Badger football running back and UW-Madison junior Anthony Davis plead guilty to battery and was placed in Dane County's first offender's program Wednesday.
The charges stem from an incident Nov. 3 when he allegedly punched his girlfriend, Tiffany Spears, a UW-Madison senior, during a dispute in his apartment.
Prosecutors said they will drop the charges if Davis successfully completes the first offender's program.
Ninety days after it announced its intent to pull out of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, North Korea completed that move Thursday, according to a report in the Financial Times.
North Korea is the first country to pull out of the treaty. The United Nations did not condemn the move because China and Russia blocked a resolution that would have denounced North Korea's action.
North Korea is one of the three countries, including Iraq and Iran, that President Bush termed ""the axis of evil.""
College graduates can expect long-term financial and health benefits, according to two recent UW System studies.
The first study found that college students earned double their starting salaries 20 years after graduation. Another found that college graduates reported ""excellent health"" more often than those who did not attend college. The study also found college graduates are more likely to be volunteers, philanthropists and nonsmokers.
