U.S. News and World Report rated certain UW-Madison graduate programs among the top in the nation in its annual report released Friday entitled \America's Best Graduate Schools.""
The report indicated UW-Madison's education program tied with Northwestern University's as ninth best nationally.
Within the Medical School, UW-Madison ranked sixth in primary care and eighth in family medicine. In health discipline, UW-Madison stands at 19 for nursing, second in rehabilitation and eighth in veterinary medicine.
Though the report does not rate all graduate programs annually, Martin Cadwallader, dean of UW-Madison's graduate school, said he thinks the report included a wide array of UW-Madison's graduate programs.
""These latest rankings show that UW-Madison has many strengths in graduate education across many disciplines,"" he said. ""It is important that we continue to build upon our strengths in the coming years and uphold our commitment to provide our students with a first-class educational experience.""
Overall, UW-Madison's fine arts program ranked 13th and the engineering program ranked 15th in the nation.
