I just wanted to comment on the story written by Bob Probst on gangsta rap in yesterday's paper. (I thought it was spelled gangster.)
Anyhow, I thought the article was OK, but I just couldn't understand how, if you discuss any aspect of rap, hip-hop and especially gangster rap, how in the world does Eminem's name come up in the discussion? I feel that the author should have mentioned a real rapper who is known for gangster rap, one of the innovators like Ice-T or Dr. Dre, if you know who those people are! Besides, many people in the black community don't really respect Eminem as a eal rapper"" anyway! His style has been called psycho rap and should not be confused with gangster rap! Most gangster rappers rap about killing someone in a rival set, or someone who is out to get them. Eminem raps about killing his mother and his ex-wife Kim! You do the math!
