Mayor Dave Cieslewicz will address how citizens can shape the future of Madison today, introducing his Comprehensive Plan at the Madison Civic Center, 211 State St., with a 5:30 p.m. open house and presentations at 6:45 p.m.
The plan is a response to the Smart Growth law, which Cieslewicz helped author in his previous job heading 1000 Friends of Wisconsin. The law requires communities to develop comprehensive plans that will carry authority of law by 2010.
The plan will address future goals for the city.
There will be two additional public meetings on Nov. 13 at Olbrich Gardens and Nov. 19 at Jefferson Middle School. Both will start with an open house at 5:30 p.m. and presentations at 6:45 p.m.
