A Milwaukee police officer shot and killed an unarmed man Saturday after he failed to take his hand out of his jacket when approaching the officer, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Mannix Franklin was in violation of a restraining order and when police approached him, he walked toward them at a fast pace, refusing to remove his hand from his pocket.
The officer, who has been with the force for less than two years, asked Franklin to show his hands, and when Franklin refused, the officer feared for his life.
