Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty met on the campus of UW-La Crosse Thursday to join forces on numerous issues, according to Wispolitics.com.
Doyle said he is committed to working with Pawlenty to help citizens of both states with the challenges of prescription drug reform, strengthening agriculture and creating manufacturing jobs.
While only their second formal meeting, Doyle and Pawlenty said they will continue regular dialogues between the two administrations. They also announced plans to hold a similar yearly \working summit"" in the fall with the key members of their respective cabinets.
The National Institute of Mental Health awarded UW-Madison researchers a $10.7 million grant to study a scientific conundrum concerning human emotions.
Though researchers have already explored peoples' reactions to particular stimuli, they have not determined how or why people respond differently to the emotions that result from stimuli, according to a press release.
Over the next five years, UW-Madison psychologist Richard Davidson will lead researchers in studying the brain in relation to both positive and negative emotions using a relatively new technique called brain imaging technology.
The team of researchers may generate treatments for mood disorder as a result of their work.
