On a night that saw the greatest offensive output by the Badgers women's basketball team (2-10 Big Ten, 8-14 overall) this season, a win was not in the cards. The Badgers lost in an overtime heartbreaker to the Iowa Hawkeyes (7-4, 13-9) last night, 87-82.
Although the Badgers were in control for nearly all of the game, they allowed eight points in the last 29 seconds of the second half. Junior guard Stephanie Rich made a drive down the paint for the game-winning shot but the interference did not allow her to make the shot. What seemed like an obvious foul to the crowd went unnoticed by the referees.
