UW's Br??ckler honored

The honors keep pouring in for the UW men's hockey team as junior goaltender Bernd Br??ckler became the third goalie in school history to be named first-team All-American. The backbone of this year's Badger team, Br??ckler set records and piled up awards throughout the season.

The list of All-Americans was announced by the American Hockey Coaches Association Wednesday, and Br??ckler joined five other Western Collegiate Hockey Association players on the six-man All-America West first-team.

Br??ckler is the first Wisconsin goaltender to be named to the first-team since Roy Schultz in 1980.

The Philadelphia Flyers prospect was also named to the first-team All-WCHA team and was the NCAA East Regional's Most Outstanding Player. Over the season Br??ckler was named WCHA Player of the Week four times, USCHO.com's Defensive Player of the Week once and was named the CSTV/Hockey Commissioner's Association Player of the Month in February.
