News Brief

Following complaints from residents of the 200 block of Langdon Street over excessive noise coming from Jin's Chicken and Fish, the City Council's Vending Oversight Committee decided to impose a six-month suspension of owner Jeffrey Ofako's license to operate his business on city streets.

Members of the Acacia fraternity, 222 Langdon St., as well as Madison police officers, cited Okafo for multiple noise and parking violations. The main complaint was that Okafo had his radio and television turned up too loudly during his business hours.

\You don't move to Langdon for peace and quiet. It is a loud street,"" Okafo said. Okafo also pointed out that he hasn't received any tickets in the last eight months.

As of press time, the committee had not reached a decision on the fate of Okafo.
