The UW-Madison Student Services Finance Committee approved in full the proposed budgets of University Health Services and the Associated Students of Madison Bus Pass program Thursday, giving the rubber stamp to two of the university's largest segregated-fee funded budgets.
SSFC approved UHS's proposed $9,940,000 budget with opposition only from committee member Brad Vogel, who proposed cutting $1,000 from the \other supplies and services"" budget section. After debate, however, the budget was passed in full.
The committee also approved the ASM Bus Pass program's $2,291,000 budget without amendment.
Committee Chair Janell Wise also proposed a referendum regarding the segregated-fee funding of the Wisconsin Union's Renovation.
The referendum, which the committee approved to place on ASM's spring election ballot, proposes an additional $3 segregated-fee each semester for the 2005-06 and 2006-07 academic years. The referendum further proposes another fee increase of $10, which would be assessed beginning in 2007-08 and last 12 years.
Following this referendum, Vogel made an ultimately unsuccessful proposal that SSFC place a cap on monies the committee allocates to student groups during the Union's renovation.
