The New Beer Thursdays taste testers had high hopes for Lion-it was the first time we had tried a Sri Lankan beer, and definitely the first time we had tried a beer with a proud beast as its mascot. Unfortunately, drinking Lion forces an inner monologue a lot like: \Huh. This tastes like cheap beer."" Sip. ""Huh. Still drinking cheap beer. This sucks.""
It's not that we don't like beer that tastes like beer, we just don't like a bland, dry, tasteless beer that actually makes you grimace. We suppose you could just try holding the beer, and look cool holding something exotic from Sri Lanka. But if you were going to do that, you could just buy some tea and save five bucks.
