UW-Madison graduate student Kevin Gonzalez won Playboy Magazine's College Fiction Contest for his short story entitled \Statehood,"" according to the Capital Times.

Gonzalez, a Master of Fine Arts student in poetry, will receive a $3,000 cash prize and have his story published in Playboy's October issue.
In addition to his prize from the magazine, Gonzalez also has been offered a full fellowship to the Iowa Writer's Workshop for his fiction writing.
