Senior middle blocker Sheila Shaw was selected as a third-team All-American. With the honor, Shaw is the sixth All-American that has played under head coach Pete Waite's seven-year tenure at Wisconsin.
Shaw, a two-time All-Big Ten Conference selection, lifted the Badgers to second place in the Big Ten and all the way to the Elite 8 in the NCAA tournament.
She led the team in hitting percentage with .324, a mark that ranked eighth in the conference. Shaw's average of 1.48 blocks per game was second on the team, third in the conference and 24th nationally. The senior also led UW in aces per game with .3, good enough for eighth in the conference. Her 2.91 kills per game ranked her fourth on the Badgers.
A starter in each of her four years at UW, Shaw ranks high in career school marks. She is third in hitting percentage with .308, sixth in total kills with 1,313, sixth in block assists with 426, sixth in total blocks with 489, sixth in points with 1,707, ninth in service aces with 118, 10th in block solos with 63, 13th in total attack attempts with 2,894, 12th in games played with 435 and 15th in matches played with 125.

Junior forward Sara Bauer and senior goalie Meghan Horras earned player-of-the-week honors after the Badgers defeated No. 1 Minnesota Duluth on Dec. 10. They were named the offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively.
Bauer collected three points, scoring the first UW goal and pitched in with an assist on the second, Friday night's 2-2 tie. Bauer scored the Badgers' first goal in the following day's 2-1 victory. She leads the nation in points with 16 goals and 18 assists.
Horras collected a total of 47 saves over the weekend and held the Bulldogs to three total goals. Minnesota Duluth has averaged 4.5 goals per game this season. Horras has posted an undefeated 7-0-1 record in league play.
The Badgers have a good amount of time off. On the weekend of Jan. 6, they head to Detroit to take on Wayne State, a non-conference opponent.
