After a surprisingly large number of people turned out to vote in Milwaukee for Tuesday's primary race, officals are manually counting votes.
According to officials, inflation of the votes only seemed to distort voter turnout and not the candidates selected. There seemed to be an unusual amount of ballots cast, especially for a primary election.
Though Milwaukee officals are hand-counting the thousands of votes cast, officials say the votes for individual candidates will not be recounted.
A total of 10 workers from the city and county elections boards are conducting the recount and no date has been set as to when the votes will be retallied.
The recount was ordered in response to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's story revealing that the Milwaukee turnout for the election could have been inflated by tens of thousands of voters.
