UW-Oshkosh head football coach, Phil Meyer, resigned Tuesday and announced his plans to join the University of Minnesota football program as offensive line coach.
The announcement came a week after the University of Minnesota's decision to hire Tim Brewster, tight end coach for the past two seasons for the NFL's Denver Broncos, as their new head football coach.
Brewster replaced Glen Mason, coach of 10 years, who was fired New Year's Eve following the Gopher's 44-41 overtime loss to Texas Tech in the Insight Bowl.
All of Mason's assistants were terminated as well.
Meyer held the head coach position at UW-Oshkosh for seven seasons with a 31-38 record.
According to the Titans' website, Meyer helped UW-Oshkosh's NCAA Division III football program gain their third-highest three-year total in the 112-year history of the program with a total of 17 wins over the past three seasons.
UW-Oshkosh joins UW-Whitewater and UW-Stout in the search for a new coach for this coming football season.
