Sunroom Café
Overall: 3/4
Veganness: 2/4
Jia - Located on the first block of State Street coming from Library Mall, Sunroom Café is tucked upstairs in one of the buildings on the left side of the street. Although easy to overlook, long-time Madison residents know that here lies a tiny gem of a restaurant that is both delicious and won't break your wallet.
During lunch hours, Sunroom features many sandwiches, salads and quiches. Most of these are excellent and come with crisp, delicious baked potatoes. At dinner time, the café turns into a full restaurant, and the menu expands to encompass pasta, pizza and quesadillas. Some of my Sunroom favorites are the \crostini, chevre and pesto"" and the ""beet pizza.""
Lena - Sunroom Café is certainly better for vegans than some other diners and cafés on State Street. I received a large bowl of pasta, bowl of soup and complimentary bread for considerably less than expected, but I must say, I am somewhat sick of paying for sandwiches, bowls of pasta and tomato sauce. These are things I could make more to my liking at home for less than a dollar.
