A Bite of Madison

Rocky Rococo

Rocky Rococo's, or Rocky's, is a fast pizza stop for anyone who is hungry for some greasy pan pizza. The restaurant is located on Regent next to Greenbush Bakery.

The individual pizza slices at Rocky's are rectangular and come in snug cardboard boxes with a top flap that opens and sides that fold down, which kind of reminds you of opening a block of cream cheese.

The single slices come in regular, thin and super slice (which is about 1/3 larger than regular). These types are generally offered in the usual cheese, pepperoni and sausage varieties, but there are daily super slice specials as well (see website). Also, you can order a combo that comes with breadsticks and a drink.

In terms of the pizza, Rocky's pan pizza is fairly similar to that of Pizza Hut but comes with a sweeter flavor. The single outstanding topping on Rocky's pizzas is by far the sausage. The sausage pieces are big and juicy and Rocky's generously gives three or six large sausages per slice of pizza.

Also, be sure to show up during peak hours to ensure that the pizza is hot and fresh. Sometimes the slices sit for a while in their boxes and loose their crispiness.

I would recommend Rocky's if you are craving some traditional thick and flavorful pan pizza that is difficult to find around campus.

Overall: 2/4
