Police arrest four suspects after fight inside Brink Lounge

A large fight at the Brink Lounge led to the arrests of four people early Sunday morning after a few patrons were uncooperative with police's attempts to clear the nightclub.

According to a police report, 16 Madison Police Department officers responded to the East Washington lounge around 1:50 a.m. after private security reported a fight involving around 10 patrons. The police arrived after the fight ended, but Brink Lounge staff asked the responding officers for their help clearing the nightclub. Officers reported most of the bar-goers were cooperative with attempts to clear the lounge but some were not so obliging.

A physical confrontation took place between one woman and an officer. The woman, Michaela Machicote, 22, reportedly scratched the officer's face, and the officer struck her in the mouth. Machicote was arrested and tentatively charged with resisting a peace officer and battery to a peace officer.

Machicote was treated at a local hospital for a facial injury.

Pepper spray was used on another patron who was allegedly trying to interfere with an arrest. Nicole Stadfeld, 29, and Robert Franklin, 35, were arrested and tentatively charged with obstructing a police officer. Mitchelle Lyle, 22, was cited and released for disorderly conduct.
