A Milwaukee man was arrested for a hit-and-run incident after he reportedly drove his car into his friend early Sunday morning after a fight between the two men.
According to a police report, Madison police were called to the intersection of Park Street and Regent Street around 4 a.m. The victim of the hit and run told police the suspect, David Solfest, 24, was a friend of his and the two men had come from Milwaukee to Madison for the night.
The victim reportedly told police the two men ended up in a physical brawl and Solfest then got into his van and drove it at him. The van jumped the curb near 20 S. Park St., hit the victim and left the scene.
Police were able to locate Solfest in his van driving from Nakoma Road onto Highway 12. Solfest was then arrested and is tentatively charged with causing injury while operating a motor vehicle while impaired, hit and run involving injury, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, battery and disorderly conduct.
The victim suffered a swollen ankle, multiple leg cuts, and a swollen eye but was not seriously injured.
