Two UW-Madison seniors hope to leave their ""student wisdom"" behind after graduation with their creation of a new interactive website designed to inform students about different aspects of college living.
The website, called StudentWisdom.com, includes student opinions on topics such as classes, restaurants, living, bars and textbooks. Co-founder and UW-Madison senior Eric Bachman said he wished he had had this type of information earlier in his college career.
""With so many classes to choose from, I would have really liked to know other students' opinions before enrolling in a random class and walking in blindly,"" Bachman said. ""After four years here we thought of a way to organize aspects of college life at UW into categories where fellow students can rate and give their opinions on different areas on campus.""
The website also includes an exchange section that allows students to arrange transactions for textbooks, tickets and sublets. UW-Madison senior and StudentWisdom.com co-founder David Berezow said that because he didn't know any older students, he had to learn about different aspects of college life through trial and error.
""Being so far away from home with so many options, I thought to myself, ‘I wish I had guidance from other students,'"" Berezow said. ""There are so many different websites out there for different aspects of college life, but this has all of these different areas on one website.""
