A 47-year-old Columbus woman was robbed on her way home from work Friday, the Madison Police Department reported.
The robbery occurred on the 500 block of North Pinckney Street at approximately 4:30 p.m. as the victim was walking to her car.
According to the police report, the woman turned around after she heard footsteps behind her. A man then grabbed her purse strap, put an object to her throat and demanded she give him the purse.
Once the suspect had the purse, he jumped into the passenger side of what is described as a silver Chevrolet Malibu hatchback that had no license plate.

An MPD officer found a screwdriver at the scene.
The suspect is described as a 5'6""-5'10"" black male in his thirties.
