The Department of Public Health for Madison and Dane County recently released its environmental health report card for 2008.
The safety of drinking water, carbon dioxide levels in the air, lead paint in homes, contamination of food and sustainable usage of water and land resources were all addressed in the report.
According to the report, air quality has been generally consistent over the past eight years, with an overall score of ""good.""
City, county, state, federal and private agencies were all used as sources to compose the data.
The previous report covered data from the years 2005 through 2006, with only six reports being released in the last 15 years. According to a statement, this is the first report that includes the evaluation of sustainability efforts throughout the city and county.
