Wisconsin lawmaker pleads no contest in Columbia County OWI

State Rep. Jeff Wood, I-Chippewa Falls, pled no contest to charges of operating while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia in Columbia County Monday.

A Columbia County judge sentenced Wood to 45 days in county jail, fined him $1,500 and revoked his license for 27 months, according to Channel 3000.

Wood, charged with three OWIs in one year, will face an expulsion resolution Tuesday during the Assembly session. Wood tried to get the resolution moved up on the agenda last week, but last Friday the Assembly voted against taking up the resolution.

Wood has said he does not plan to run for re-election in the fall.
