As poor college students, quality often takes a back seat to quantity when it comes to liquor purchases. We might not go for Fleischmann's like we did back in freshman year, but it's not like we're going to throw down $25 for a liter of Jose Cuervo or Tanqueray.
The beauty of the Red Shed's Monday night special, though, is that you don't have to be a high roller to enjoy some really good drinks. A Stolichnaya mixer that would empty your bank account at another bar costs less than $2 excluding tip, and there's nothing better than getting hammered on classy alcohol.
I've often thought about going to the Red Shed on a Monday night when I wasn't drinking (heavily) just to enjoy a Bombay Sapphire and tonic or Jameson and Coke at a good price. Of course, I don't go through with it because the idea of being in the Red Shed without alcohol to numb the sensation me want to gag. Have you seen those bathrooms? Horrifying.
