Cardinal Stritch student arrested for alleged residence hall arson on Thanksgiving Day

A 20-year-old student at Cardinal Stritch University was arrested Friday for allegedly setting three fires at a residence hall on Thanksgiving Day, according to the Fox Point Police Department.

The first fire broke out in Clare Residence hall at around 5 a.m. which police say was contained to a utility room.

The second fire occurred at approximately 8 a.m. in the first-floor bathroom. After searching the building, police found another fire in the second floor bathroom that had burnt out.

About 25 students were evacuated due to the fires. Nobody was injured in the incident and no student property was damaged, according to a statement from Cardinal Stritch University.

The case will be presented Monday to the Milwaukee County District Attorney, according to police.
