Jeremy Ryan announced he is dropping out of the race for Madison mayor Monday.
Ryan initially announced his candidacy for mayor in October. However, according to Ryan's statement, he is dropping out of the race for medical reasons. Ryan said he is unable to keep up with the responsibilities of running for mayor.
""This is not the end,"" Ryan said in a statement. ""I will return as I will always feel a calling to politics and to the fact that we need average people representing average people and actions speak louder than words.""
Ryan urged the future mayor to work with him on services such as the Metro bus system, and said he will not support incumbent Dave Cieslewicz or former Mayor Paul Soglin.
Within his statement Ryan thanked his supporters and the people who volunteered to help with his campaign.
