Mayor Dave Cieslewicz named UW-Madison alumnus Mark Woulf as the city of Madison's Alcohol Policy Coordinator Tuesday.
According to the statement, the city of Madison and UW-Madison jointly fund the Alcohol Policy Coordinator position. The position serves to address alcohol-related issues both on campus and the Madison community.
""Alcohol-related issues play a major role in public safety, neighborhood quality and other significant community concerns,"" Cieslewicz said in a statement.
Woulf currently serves on the city's Alcohol License Review Committee.
At UW-Madison Woulf served on the Alcohol and other Drug Task Force. He graduated with a degree in political science and sociology.
""I look forward to working with the many stakeholders in alcohol policy and will work to bring a voice that will continue to improve our process and add to our community as a whole,"" Woulf said in a statement.
Woulf is set to begin his new position Jan. 10.
