Police arrested two men early Sunday morning after Guardian Angels intervened in an alleged attack of a 24-year-old Verona man on State Street.
According to the police report, the perpetrators attacked the victim following a dispute over a woman around 1:35 a.m. near the corner of State Street and North Frances Street.
Samuel Schneider and Ryan Schwenn had allegedly kneed the victim in the groin, punched him in the head and knocked him to the ground before the Guardian Angels subdued them.
The Guardian Angels detained the two attackers until police arrived on the scene.
Schneider, a 27-year-old Reedsburg resident, was arrested for substantial battery while Schwenn, 21, from Cottage Grove, was arrested as a party to the crime, according to police.
The victim suffered a broken nose.
