The Oscar Rennebohm Foundation identified itself Tuesday as the group that anonymously donated $1 million to the UW-Madison School of Nursing.
The foundation originally kept the gift anonymous to build interest in the university's plan to build a new school of nursing, Mary Gulbrandsen, a Rennebohm board member, said in a statement.
Oscar Rennebohm founded the organization in 1949 to support education, research, health care and recreation in Madison. In December 2010, the foundation gave
its first $1 million gift to the university School of Nursing.
""Nursing is certainly part of health care. As we look at what's happening on campus, the School of Nursing must be part of the overall plan,"" Gulbrandsen said.
This is the group's second donation to the School of Nursing in two years.
