The pedestrian bridge connecting Vilas Hall and Humanities will be closed for renovation starting Oct. 10.
The bridge will be completely shut off from foot traffic as contractors work to clean and waterproof the structure, which spans across University Avenue.
The bridge will remain blocked on nights and weekends for the duration of the project.
The work will take roughly two weeks, weather permitting, with the pedestrian bridge set to reopen Oct. 24.
According to UW-Madison's department of Facilities Planning & Management, the renovation project will produce ""mild noise pollution"" during business hours, as well as dust and fumes.
