Paramedics, officers save student’s life at hockey game

Rapid response from officers and paramedics saved the life of a student who went into cardiac arrest in the Kohl Center during Saturday's hockey game, according to a UW-Madison Police Department press release.

University police officers arrived at the Kohl Center student section late in the first period after receiving reports of a medical issue. When the man went into cardiac arrest, officers started doing chest compressions.

Madison Fire Department paramedics arrived shortly and revived the man using a defibrillator.

"The quick actions and prompt response from Officers and Paramedics saved the student's life," UWPD Sgt. Aaron Chapin said in the press release.
