Police assisted a UW-Madison student who was assaulted on University Avenue between Lake and Francis Streets early Saturday morning.
While talking with a friend, three suspects approached and harassed the 19-year-old student, according to Madison Police Department spokesperson Joel DeSpain.
After telling the suspects to leave him alone, one of the men struck the student in the mouth bringing him to the ground, according to police.
Police said the suspect knocked out two of the student’s teeth. After receiving assistance from the police, he was sent to a hospital where a doctor placed the teeth back into his mouth and gave him several stitches to his lip.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 18- and 25-years-old, 5’6” to 5’7” and 180 to 200 pounds. He has a shaved head, tear drop tattoos near his eyes and was wearing a dark hoodie and jeans, according to DeSpain.
The victim said he last saw the suspect fleeing by taxi.
