UW-Madison ranked 19th among international universities for the second year in a row, according to a survey done by the Jiao Tong University in Shanghai.
The ranking was determined by a number of factors, including alumni and staff Nobel Prize winners as well as research performances.
UW-Madison is the highest ranked Big Ten University to make the list and is one of only six public universities in the United States on the list.
The 10 universities topping the list are the same as last year, with Harvard ranked number one, followed by Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Schools from the U.S. dominate the list, capturing 17 of the top 20 spots, as well as 53 of the top 100.
