Election officials launch new website

The Government Accountability Board launched a new website Tuesday designed to help Wisconsin voters more easily prepare for Election Day.

The website, called myvote.wi.gov, provides information to Wisconsinites on how to register to vote, apply for absentee ballots and find their polling places ahead of the November 6 elections.

The GAB hopes the initiative will allow more of the state’s voters, especially those who are living overseas or members of the military, to submit their ballots and streamline the election process for local clerks.

“Wisconsin’s new voter information portal will empower voters, reduce the workload on local election officials and help ensure fair and transparent elections,” GAB Director Kevin Kennedy said.

The fall elections mark the first time the state’s newly-drawn districts will be in effect. Voters can cast their ballots in person as early as October 22 in Wisconsin. Absentee voting by mail began last Thursday.
