University of Wisconsin-Madison alumnus Steve Levitan won his third-straight Emmy Award Sunday for Best Comedy Series for his work as an executive producer on “Modern Family.”
In addition to his Emmy for producing the show, Levitan also won his first Emmy for Best Directing in a Comedy Series for the same show.
“Modern Family” is an ABC sitcom that follows the story of three families who embody the lifestyles and reflect the realities of households and families in America today.
Levitan graduated from UW-Madison in 1984. Since then, he has contributed to numerous television shows, including “Frasier” and “The Wonder Years.” Levitan is also responsible for creating five television shows, such as “Just Shoot Me!” and “Modern Family.”
After graduating, Levitan worked as an anchorman and on-air news reporter in Madison before leaving Wisconsin for Hollywood in 1989.
