Dane County Executive Joe Parisi announced Thursday he plans to run for re-election in April for a full term.
“I am running for a full term as your County Executive this April to ensure the important work we have started … is successful,” Parisi said in a statement.
Parisi received 70 percent of the vote in a special election in April 2011 to serve the remaining two years of former County Executive Kathleen Falk’s term.
If re-elected, Parisi said in a statement he would continue to enhance economic development, create more green energy jobs and strengthen the agricultural economy within Dane County.
“These continue to be challenging and uncertain times,” Parisi said. “But as your County Executive I have shown how much you can get done by sitting down and working with people in a respectful manner.”
The County Executive spring primary election is Feb. 19 and the general election is April 2.
