Man with gunshot wound will not provide details on incident

A 19-year-old Madison man claimed he was shot in the downtown area Sunday, but police said he will not say how it happened.

The man showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to Madison Police Department spokesperson Joel DeSpain.

DeSpain said the victim was not “too forthcoming” with the details of the incident.

“He claimed to have been shot in the downtown area but did not immediately provide specifics as to the who, what, where, why, when, how,” DeSpain said.
