With Election Day just over a week away, both presidential campaigns appear to believe Wisconsin’s crucial 10 electoral votes are still up for grabs, dispatching President Barack Obama, Mitt Romney and their running mates to the state over the next several days .
Romney’s campaign announced the former Massachusetts Governor will campaign at State Fair Park in West Allis on Monday, his first visit to Wisconsin since he chose U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., as his vice presidential candidate back in August. The rally is set to begin at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, Ryan will be back in Wisconsin next Wednesday, making several stops around the Badger State. The campaign has yet to announce any details of Ryan’s trip.
As for the Democratic ticket, Obama plans to return to Wisconsin on Tuesday for a campaign rally in Green Bay, a key swing area in the state. Obama’s last trip t the state came at the beginning of the month when he addressed a crowd of 30,000 on Bascom Hill at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Obama’s running mate, Vice President Joe Biden, is traveling to UW-Oshkosh and UW-Parkside today, marking his third campaign visit to Wisconsin in as many weeks.
Today's RealClearPolitics polling average shows Obama leads Romney by 2.3 percent in Wisconsin.
