A Madison man was beaten and robbed early Sunday morning on the 600 block of State Street, according to Madison police.
The 26-year-old man said two men punched and kicked him to the ground at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday morning, according to Madison Police Department spokesperson Joel DeSpain.
He fell to the ground unconscious, which the victim said could have been from the battery or from alcohol consumption, according to DeSpain.
Police said in a statement the man discovered his wallet and cell phone had been stolen when he woke up.
“We’re now trying to find video and talk with other people who can corroborate what [the victim] said happened,” DeSpain said.
The victim said he was in a small fight with one of the attackers when they were both in State Street Brats earlier that night, according to DeSpain.
